iPhone 4S using A2DP Bluetooth profile rather than AVRCP profile on brand new Pioneer car radio.

I bought my new pioneer bluetooth face right after the big convention where it was released. I specifically waited so I could get the most new and updated player, to be guaranteed the best connection and sound. After having it for about 3 months, I installed iOS 6 on my phone and now it acts as an A2DP profile..now that I have looked in my pioneer manual and see the difference between the two I think apple might have changed something about this..I am due for an upgrade but I doubt I'm going to get an iPhone seeing as though there is a huge chance it will make my Bluetooth useless. My car is a larger investment than my phone and I hope apple can fix this so the future iPhones will continue to work for this face! If anyone knows anything please let me know! I currently have the pioneer DEH-P8400BH

Thank you!

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1.4
