Macbook Pro internet suddenly gone slow.

I have been using my Macbook Pro over a year with no issues but the past couple of hours, my internet on my Macbook pro has gone below 1mb download, 50 ping and 0.2mb upload.

My PC is getting 4 download, 30 ping and 0.6 upload at the same distance from the router as the Macbook pro.

Anyone know how to fix this? I am not able to use an ethernet cable as the router is too far away.

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can.

  1. Restart your router and your broadband device, if they're separate. Any change?
  2. If possible, connect to your router with an Ethernet cable and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?
  3. Are any other devices on the network, and if so, are they all slow at the same time?
  4. If you can connect to more than one network, are they all slow?
  5. Are all network applications slow, or only some? If only some, which ones?
  6. Is networking always slow, or only sometimes?
  7. Disconnect all other devices from the network. Any change?
  8. Boot in safe mode and test. Any difference?
