I was just watching a programme from the BBC on the internet and put the laptop to one side. Next thing I know the screen is black as if the battery is dead. It had enough charge when I was watching the programme. The battery indicators don't light up at all. When I plug the charger in it glows green but not bright, and then it flickers between green and amber. I have tried holding the power button for about 30 secs - nothing. :(

Some things to try include: Resetting the System Management Controller and trying another power supply/charger. But probably you will have to take the machine in for testing/servicing.

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010): Intermittent black screen or loss of video. Affected computers were manufactured between April 2010 and February 2011.
It was purchased in December 2011. I'm not sure what OS it has but it has been updated recently.
