I had 5 computers authorized- de auth 1 and now trying to Auth a new one, but I tunes doesn't see that I'm now down to 4 what to do??? Ive tried rebooting--how long does it take the store to register authorizations????

Should not take long at all.
You sure you dont' have a mixture of Apple ID's your adjusting with?
Check your Account Information to see what it sees.
