Turn MacBook Air into WiFi hotspot, Turn MacBook Air into WiFi hotspot

Hi,

So I have an iPhone 4S and a MacBook Air mid 2011. In my bedroom on my phone I recieve very weak WiFi reception but on my computer I have 5 out of 5 bars. I was wondering if I could turn my MacBook into a wifi hotspot without an ethernet connection?

You can't use the one wifi card installed in your air as both a WiFi connection to a router and as a hotspot. You need a second connection. Not sure if a second WiFi card could be used but I do know that if you had a ethernet connection to your router then you can use the built in WiFi card as a hotspot.
