How do I fix safari error on my iPad, please?

Safari shows an error on it's debug console when I try to access a website that always worked before. It says that an HTML tag, <h1>tag doesn't have an end tag. I have cleared the history and the cookies and even the cache and have turned off the iPad, and have tried to reload safari but there doesn't seem to be a version to download for my iPad. I haven't tried to reload the OS. My version of iOS doesn't seem to be in the list of versions on this page...3.2.1

What can I do to fix it? Thanks.

iPad, iOS 3.1.2

Hello, thanks for the response. Well no I don't get the error message, but the website doesn't work in exactly the same manner, so I suppose it's the same end tag that is missing somehow. Do you think that I really have to reinstall the iOS? There are other errors in javascripts on other websites if I can believe what this debug console says. So..is it easy to reinstall the operating system?

Debug console is mainly for use by the website developer to debug their own sites - so unless you are trying to debug your own site then I'd leave it switched off.

All versions of iOS 5 have been available for the first gen iPad, it's iOS 6 that you can't update to on it. If you want to update to iOS 5.1.1 (the highest version that it supports) then you should be able to do so via your computer's iTunes : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5050781?answerId=22061024022#22061024022
