I am puzzled why Safari always hangs and has to be forced to quit just on one particular website

that is well known - www.economist.com

I have reset, emptied the cache manually, reset the pram

and more. I use Camino on this site now but does anyone have any idea why Safari

does not like this site? It used to be OK about a year ago.

Loads for me under Safari 5.1.8 under Snow Leopard OS 10.6.8. Then I tried on an old PowerMac G4 running Safari 4.1.3 under OS 10.4.11 and it still loaded.

Might be a plugin or extension...

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab.

    Deselect:  Allow all other plug-ins

Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If that didn't help, select the Extensions tab.

If there are any extensions installed, turn that off, quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Hi - thanks yes this seems to have done the trick. I deselected plug ins and rebooted and the site worked normally. I then rectivated them without rebooting Safari as I do need to view video. Rather a roundabout

way to make full use of the browser though.
