Browser redirecting URL to wrong web site or error saying URL not found?

This problem is very annoying. If I reboot the computer it goes away, but only for while. I've reset the browser, deleted the cookies and checked the plugins. It seems to happen mostly on Facebook. I get redirected to other web sites, and certificate is not trusted. Help!!

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

You don't identify the browser, but I'll assume it's Safari.

From the Safari menu bar, select

Safari Preferences Extensions

Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.

The problem returned. I had all extensions turned off at the time. It happened when I went to Facebook. I got a certificate error. It asks me if I want to continue or cancel. When I select continue I get a URL not found message.

I rebooted the computer and the problem went away. That seems to be the only way to purge th eproblem, but it doesn't last.

I deleted all website data and blocked everything and still does it. I was on a FOX News web site whenI got a message saying the Facebook site certificate is not valid, do I want to continue? I did and this is what happened:

Invalid URL

The requested URL "/connect/ping?client_id=113186182048399&response_type=token%2Csigned_request%2 Ccode&domain=www.foxnews.com&origin=1&redirect_uri=http%3A%2F%2Fstatic.ak.facebo ok.com%2Fconnect%2Fxd_arbiter.php%3Fversion%3D24%23cb%3Df11569eec%26origin%3Dhtt p%253A%252F%252Fwww.foxnews.com%252Ffdb2ec1%26domain%3Dwww.foxnews.com%26relatio n%3Dparent&sdk=joey", is invalid.

Back up all data.

Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.

From the menu bar, select

Keychain Access Preferences Certificates

There are three menus in the window. Change the selection in the top two to Best attempt, and in the bottom one to CRL. Log out, log back in, and test.
