I've tried texting 90999, but my iPhone 4S won't let the message go through to the Red Cross. I have no clue why - any thoughts/suggestions will be deeply appreciated!
If you go to the Red Cross website http://www.redcross.org/support/donating-fundraising/donations/text-messaging it says participating carriers are:
AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, Nextel, Alltel, Virgin Mobile, US Cell, Cricket, Cincinnati Bell, Cellular South, Cellcom, nTelos, Plateau Wireless, Pocket Communications, Union Wireless, NEMont Tel Coop, Simmetry Wireless, Mid-Tex Cellular, Leaco Rural, CableVision, Hawkeye, People Wireless, Pioneer, Inland1, Inland2, Cross, and Revol.
The number might be a premium number that the plan with your carrier does not support
1. Are you in the U.S.? I suspect this only works there.
2. Do you have Settings > Messages > Send as SMS set to "On"?
I want to donate to the Red Cross via text, but the text won't go through to 90999 (I keep getting the red exclamation point). Any suggestions on how I can fix this will be warmly welcomed, thanks.
