I wish to transfer App from MacBook to iPhone

I have purchased an App for iPad and want it on my new iPhone. All the guidelines I get refer to menu options I do not have! I am on MacOSx 10.7.5 and IOS the latest i i have just gotten my iPhone.

I want an App I have on my iPad Mini transferred to my iPhone. I have prviously purchased the App and it Downloaded again to my MacBook Pro FOC.

I now wish to transfer this App to my iPhone. The menu options I get do not follow the reccommendations on the Web.

Please tell me how to perform this 'simple' procedure.

Please tell me how also to add this question to the Forum!

Assuming you are signed into iTunes/App Store with the same AppleID it was purchased on, AND it is an app that is compatible with the iPhone, open the itunes app on teh phone, tap Updates, then Purchased. You can download the app from there.

i wish to Sync a Publication! Not Music, Films or whatever.

None of the previous responses answer my question. Maybe it was answered years ago. I cannot find it! Please reply as at 2013 etc. etc. This application is large 50mb or so. It is compatible with iPad and iPhone. I have it on my iPad (this year) I have to go via MacBook to get this on my iPhone.

Please tell me what you know.

Assuming that you actually sync both devices with the iTunes library on your computer, plug the iPad into your computer. In iTunes, File>Transfer Purchases.

Then Plug the iPhone in and just sync it to the phone. This isn't rocket science. Or, you could just download it from the app store to your computer. If you're using the same Apple ID you originally used to purchase it, there is no charge to do so, then you can sync it to the phone.

Please slow down. If you're having a specific problem, then tell us exactly what it is, including what you have tried, and what happens when you try.

I tried to purchase the App again. It is Birds Of Britain etc etc. Pro. I cannot purchase a second copy at £13.00 because I have it already. It is compatible with iPad and iPhone. I now do have it on iPad and MacBookPro.

I go to iTunes to synch device and select iPhone and it does it instantly. But the App does not appear on iPhone.

(I do now have the iPhone connested to the MacBookPro)

My menu options do not allow transfer from MacBook to iPhone - al they will do is Synch.

This cannot be peculiar to UK MacBooks and iPhones.

Please tell me what to do.

Which did you buy, Birds of Britain or Birds of Britain HD? If you bought the HD version, it is compatible only with the iPad, and if you want it on your iPhone will have to buy the other version as well.

Synching is how you transfer from iTunes to an iOS device. The advice to use the Transfer command was so that you could get the app from the iPad into iTunes, if it wasn't there already.

Regards.

OK If you bought Birds of Britain and Ireland (Pro Edition) it appears to be a universal app. If you look at the button that shows the cost or says free some of them have a small plus symbol in the upper left hand corner of the button. This indicates that it is a universal app.

If you have your iPad backed up to iTunes you should be able to connect your iPhone to your computer and when it appears in the left hand navigation column click on it. The click on the Apps tab towards the top of the screen. This will show you on the right hand side of the screen all your Home Screens and there should be a list of apps to the left of these screens. scroll through the list until you find the app you are looking for. Drag the icon onto one of the home pages and then click the apply button in the bottom right hand corner of the iTunes screen. This should than sync your phone and load the app onto it.
