hi, i have seen a few comments and discussions about this topic but not something which fixes it! I have lost all my messages and attachments and im not best pleased. Can anyone help? thanks !

Well if you have read the other discussion you would know that the deleted content can only be retrieved if it is contained in a backup and you restore your phone from that backup. If there is no such backup then the content is gone
thanks. But I have been into my settings and it doesnt give you the option to back up messages.
The backup is something that would either be in iTunes on your computer or on the cloud. Read http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
