May 23, 2013 1:07 PM in response to knihiserby Templeton Peck,so then enter the correct username and password. What's so hard about that?

Nov 1, 2013 1:56 AM in response to Templeton Peckby jennifernz,This is the same problem I have and it doesn't matter how many times you make sure they are correct it still won't send. Something else is the problem.......a fix from Apple needs to be done.

Nov 1, 2013 3:53 AM in response to jennifernzby diesel vdub,There is no need for a fix from Apple as it's not an iOS issue.
Either the information for the email account is entered incorrectly or the email provider is experiencing issues.

Nov 1, 2013 12:42 PM in response to diesel vdubby jennifernz,Sorry ........I posted to this thread in a hurry and should have realised this was for a phone. My problem is with the iPad which a lot of people are having a problem with since upgrading to the new iOS 7. It is happening with phones as well if I am not mistaken though. !!!! And no my provider is not experiencing a problem and my user name and password are correct. ....everything worked fine before the upgrade.

Nov 1, 2013 12:55 PM in response to jennifernzby diesel vdub,The device is not relevant, the issue is not iOS. The issue is the setup of the email account on the device OR the provider.

Nov 1, 2013 1:12 PM in response to diesel vdubby jennifernz,Then can you explain please why lots of other people are having the very same problem after updating. Ever since I have had my iPad I have not had any problems..........straight after updating, like many others I did!!!! NOTHING changed except I pressed update!!!!!.

Nov 1, 2013 1:18 PM in response to jennifernzby diesel vdub,Considering the original posting is from March, long before the release of iOS7 and millions of users have updated to iOS7 with little to no issues, it simply is not an iOS7 issue.
Who is the email provider?
Have the correct settings been entered?
Has the account been deleted from the device and added back?

Nov 1, 2013 1:30 PM in response to diesel vdubby jennifernz,I have found lots of postings from people with this problem since the iOS. 7 update. The most recent like me...in October. !!
The email provider is Yahoo xtra in (New Zealand)
My settings are correct.
No I haven't deleted and re added..........others have and it has made no difference.
Thanks for your patience :)

Nov 1, 2013 2:27 PM in response to jennifernzby diesel vdub,That is interesting. I've seen very few postings about email issues and had none with the update to iOS7.

No offense, but that's simply illogical. Just because it has not resolved the problem for others does not mean it will not work for you. If you cannot or will not try simple and basic troubleshooting steps then we are all simply wasting our time.

Nov 1, 2013 2:49 PM in response to diesel vdubby jennifernz,You must not be reading the same things I am....... Try in the "mail" option of discussions. As for not deleting and re adding..........I do not intend to do something that being not a tech expert could cause more problems. I do have another way of sending my mail so will do that in the meantime until I have someone here at home with more experience to sort it.
Thanks for trying to help :)

May 19, 2014 6:41 PM in response to jennifernzby cinepuxon ,Don't know whose problem it is but I did this...
Had the same problem just started last week after I changed my AOL password. Entering the new password into iPhone 4S AOL account did not fix anything. Went to the AOL captcha link noted previously and did that. Still no luck on sending mail. Could always receive tho... Could not change password in outgoing mail server on iPhone. Solution was to add NEW server smtp.aol.com, username without @aol.com, new password. Did this for each AOL email account on iPhone (2) then turned off both OLD aol smtp.....and it works fine. Can now send emails.
