Creating a usb install disk

So I'm building a pc, and have a Windows 7 OEM install dvd. The build does not have an optical drive, so I was planning on using boot camp to make an install disk on a flash drive. My question is if you do this in bootcamp, the install does not need to be done on a macbook via bootcamp correct? Can you create the install and then use on a computer without an operating system like I plan to do? Im pretty sure you can but Im just making sure because I dont want to install windows on my macbook accidentally or ruin the one use for the windows dvd.
