Q: iMac G5
I have bought myself a used. iMac 2GHz PowerPC G5 with the version Mac OS X 10.5.8 currently on it. I bought this unit to use as a backup for my DJ. I am trying to install my DJ programs on it and nothing seems to work, it keeps telling me to install newer OS. So I bought on Apple Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3. When I set the disc in to install it shows me "You can't install Mac OS X Snow Leopard on this computer. To install Mac OS X Snow Leopard, you need an Intel-based Mac." What do I do? And how do I get a Intel-based Mac? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You have a PowerPC-based Mac. These computers stopped being sold some years ago and Apple doesn't support them. Furthermore, Snow Leopard isn't compatible with these computers.
The only thing you can do to install the applications you need is to buy a new iMac because the one you are using doesn't support your applications. Unfortunately, you bought a too old computer to run later OS X
