May 22, 2013 8:25 PM in response to FluxMeby Ren117,Had the same problem, iTunes 11.0.3.42, Windows 7 64bit OS, Error 0x80092013 and connectivity test crashed iTunes.
Problem was caused by the internet proxy server was not allowing or filtering access to iTunes Store.
Changed internet settings to use an alternate proxy server which is not filtering the iTunes Store, this has resolved the problem. I can now connect to iTunes Store with no errors.
Therefore any local firewall or internet filter could also prevent access to the iTunes Store and result in this error.

May 23, 2013 9:44 AM in response to Ren117by LA mini ipod,Yep tried that back when I was just getting the -1202 error.........and tried again with recent 0x80092103 error.......
Doesn't work for me.... I don't have a proxy server...and I've shut off my Norton firewall too see if that mattered...it didn't.
There was a time when I had HidemyVPN software on the computer.....and I think this is when my problems started. I removed that software, but it hasn't fixed the problem......there may be something that didn't get completely cleaned up with the SW removal. But right now I'm stuck....
Tried all the winsock recommendations, firewall recommendations, clear cache, Bonjour service, etc. recommendations

May 28, 2013 4:06 PM in response to FluxMeby DanielSchwarz,Have this same problem as well. Started getting -1202 with 10.6 out of nowhere (I hadn't done anything; the error just started popping up), and after updating to iTunes 11 I now get the same error and the same issues. Can't access the store, my account, can't run diagnostics without freezing up, etc. Would be really great if someone from Apple could offer a solution that doesn't involve downgrading and wrecking my library.

May 28, 2013 5:42 PM in response to DanielSchwarzby FluxMe,Good luck. Apple will be of no help. I've given up. It takes too long to run through all the suggestions to find out they don't work, and Apple offers nothing not already available in the blogosewer. You'd think Apple's support department would be more competent at solving problems like this. Whenever I called and reported the old error -1202, I never once was sent a link to information on error -1202, but received pages with lists of other errors and was told to check my clock. Thank you for your help. Support personnel would suggest a date for a follow up call and never call, but send a series of useless email suggestions from a no-reply email address. What ********. At least with the recent upgrade, I got a new error code.

May 31, 2013 7:23 AM in response to FluxMeby ravichandran.p.m,Hallo,
any one got solution,
I too have same problem

Jun 3, 2013 7:16 AM in response to ravichandran.p.mby LA mini ipod,Nothing yet....I continue to try every solution I see on the web...but to no avail.
Coincidentally, I have noticed I also have a connection issue with Rhapsody software.
Everything else works fine....all browsers (explorer, firefox, chrome).....in fact I can stream rhapsody from the web site....but if I use the SW on the computer.....no connection available.
Itunes....same issue issues as above....no solution.
Seen some ideas that point toward one of the communication ports on the computer....but haven't figured out anything.

Jun 6, 2013 7:56 PM in response to FluxMeby TheOriginalSlink,FluxMe, the situation you're describing matches mine exactly. Started with a -1202 when I tried to redeem 2 years ago and has gotten progressively worse with every release of iTunes. I assume you've seen this thread:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3794744?start=0&tstart=0
that describes log files with errors such as:
[6608 @ Thu Jun 06 19:45:16 2013] [com.apple.iTunes iTunes.exe] CertVerifyCertificateChainPolicy failed with error 0x80092013
So think this definitely has something to do with certificates but am not smart enough to figure out how to fix ( and neither was Apple).
-
Jun 7, 2013 12:07 PM in response to TheOriginalSlinkby LA mini ipod,Well rhapsody is now working with a new update from Rhapsody.....but Itunes.....no go. Still the same error as above (0x80092013). I have been fooling around with the certificates and see some questionable things, but I haven't been able to find a solution. I might need to try to go back to 10.5 thing to see if that works

Oct 19, 2013 10:31 PM in response to LA mini ipodby davwatto,If like me you have concluded that this is not a connectivity issue.
In my case it is a problem with Webkit2 and they way it handles SSL certificates.
To test if this is the case install Safari for windows 5.1.7(if not already installed) and try to access a secure site, like facebook or your banking, if you receive a certificate dialog box saying
"Safari can't verify the identity of the website"
If you hit "Continue" and the page loads but does not render correctly ........
Then try using another browser (IE/FF/Chrome) and see if you are able to access the site without prompts and the page renders correctly.
From Safari 4.04 onwards (as well as iTunes) it uses the windows root certificate store, to test uninstall Safari 5.1.7 and go back as far as Safar 3.2.3 (oldapps.com) and then try to access a secure site, if it renders correctly (back then Safari handled it's own certificates) you have the same problem as me
If you also look in the logs for itunes when you're accessing (attempting) the store if you find a reference to webkit2 and certificates that should further help clarify the problem. btw - don't bother with windows root certificate updates if your other browsers work ok

Apr 2, 2014 11:00 AM in response to FluxMeby ShadyAllTheWay,THIS SHOULD HELP Y'ALL FACING THIS ISSUE. WORKED FINE FOR ME.
BTW, I am a Win-7 user and so far had iTunes 10.7 installed on my PC which I upgraded to 11.1.5.5 assuming an error due to an older iTunes version but the version wasn't the thing. And trust me, changing the DNS settings, upgrading the iTunes version, the certifications & all aren't gonna help either. (Seen a lotta people complaining on forums saying upgrading iTunes, refreshing DNS, disabling firewall settings & stuff don't help.)
The Error Code was 0x80092013 saying "An unknown error occured. iTunes could not Connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your NETWORK SETTINGS ARE CORRECT and your network connection is active."
So all I did was this-
CONTROL PANEL ---> NETWORK & INTERNET ---> INTERNET OPTIONS
Then under the CONNECTIONS tab, clicked on LAN SETTINGS and unticked the "USE A PROXY SERVER FOR YOUR LAN" option. Clicked OK and BINGO.
There it was!! Hope this helps y'all too!!

Apr 14, 2014 10:23 AM in response to TheOriginalSlinkby ShadyAllTheWay,Try the "Automatically Detect Settings" option then. The manual ones may have been set wrong.
Worth a shot.
