Question

Speech to text icon gray ios6

The microphone icon that appears next to the keyboard to enable speech to text is gray on iPhone4s OS6. How do I enable this? Thanks!

Thank you for your suggestion. Although I already had the dictation option enabled my microphone icon was still gray!

I did try closing out all the apps on the "fast switch task bar" (I'm not sure of the correct nomenclature here!) and followed with a "two-button reset". After this the microphone icon was back and speech to text works again! Go figure!
