Something happened just a few days ago and my Finder no longer sorts in ascending order (alphabetically).  Any suggestions how I can get it back to that as I cannot find anything anywhere in the finder to sort by ascending.

Click on the column you want the Finder to sort by. If needed, do it twice.

Did not help.  I need to clarify...I'm referring to the finder that comes up when I need to do an attachment in email.  Somehow in that window, the finder does not allow me to sort by ascending.  It used to be that way just a few days ago.  Obviously I did something.  When I double click on the column, it always brings it up as an attachment in the email whether I click at the top of the column or in the column where the folders are?  Am I not clicking in the right spot?

When you click the attachment button your will see the dropdown of the folder FInder is currently in and to the left of that there is a little dropdown that looks like little boxes and when you click the arrow it gives you sorting options. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion but already did that and it does not give any ascending/descending options.  Clicking on "name" will alphabetize but in descending mode only (z-a).  No option to choose ascending mode (a-z) which is what I want.
