Q: Using ibooks:readaloud doesn't pass the epubchecker

Hi All,

I am creating an Interactive eBook ePub3 using read aloud control to start or stop Read Aloud.

I follow the iBookstore Asset Guide using the attribute ibooks:readaloud="startstop". Unfortunately, it doesn't pass the epubchecker.

The error message is that: attribute "ibooks:readaloud" not allowed here; expected attribute "accesskey",...

Kindly let me know if you have any ideas.

take a look here:

it's not really an error (for ibooks), you can ignore it.

I have used your code but it still doesn't work. The same error appears: attribute "ibooks:readaloud" not allowed here; expected attribute "accesskey", "aria-activedescendant",...

But your code works with epub:type="ibooks:soundtrack".

did you take a look at the link above? people there say that epubcheck 1.1 didn't mark this as an error.
here is what said epubcheck developer: EpubCheck 1.1 should have reported this as an error too; EpubCheck 3 is correct.

so if you want to use this feature (button to stop/start reading), you just have to ignore that error report.
