May 22, 2013 10:39 PM in response to Kappyby Cws5214,Everytime I open System Preferences then click on Icloud I note that the tick is missing from beside the mail icon so I re-tick it and close system preferences and the re-open system preferences and the box is unticked?
Its like System preferences does not save the setting?

May 22, 2013 10:48 PM in response to Cws5214by Kappy,That box is only functional if you have an iCloud mail account configured in Mail. If you are using some other email provider, then the box is of no use to you. Having iCloud does not mean you have an iCloud mail account setup in Mail. And, unless you want to use iCloud for your Mail, you should leave the box unchecked.
