Insert > equations is blanked out on my Mac. What can I do?
MathType is unchecked in preferences (actually not selectable at all) and Insert > Equations is also unselectable (blanked out). What can I do?
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

You have to install MathType separately if you have not already done so -- Apple does not provide it.
Have you got your cursor in a text box or template text field when you try Insert > Equation?

I realize that I have to have a copy of the Math Type for that to work, just wanted to make sure everyone knows that it is not selected in Preferences. As for the insertion into a textbox, thank you so much. That was the silly issue I had not recognized.
Thanks again,
Juan.
