iMac grey screen after sleep?

After my iMac goes to sleep, either running programs or not, when I wiggle or click the mouse to wake it back up, a grey overlay apears over the desktop and it has loading bars down the bottom of the screen. This only lasts for a few seconds, but the mouse takes a while to connect again and the computer moves a little slower for a while. It usually does this after an hour or two of being asleep. Can anyone tell me what's happening? I only bought it two months ago and it has all the up-to-date software.

Well I have no issues whatsoever however I'd urge you to use your AppleCare if you still have it. Don't assume that all the tech support people are the same, they're not. If you don't get a question answered then you can either ask for it to be escolated or to call right back to speak to someone else. Apple consistently gets the top marks in the industry for support, while I have to admit going up against Dell, HP, Lenovo and others isn't much of a fight my experiences with them have always been excellent.

BTW one thing I normally do is instead of putting my computer to sleep I only put the display to sleep, this has been ideal.
