HOW DO I FIND THE LIBRARY/PREFERENCES FILE

Can anyone recommend some fonts that aren't too silly from a third party?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

Is this two questions? Subject and body say different things.

The preference file can be accessed holding down the option key while using the Finder Go To Folder command. Enter ~/Library/Preferences.

If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.

You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.2. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

1. There is no "LIBRARY/PREFERENCES" file. There is a folder by that name.

2. TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK THE NEXT TIME YOU POST SOMETHING. IT'S RUDE. IT LOOKS LIKE YELLING.

I note that the title of your post (THE ONE YOU WERE SHOUTING IN ALL CAPS) has nothing to do with your question. This is very interesting.

Can you give us some more information about the file you are trying to find, or what constitutes a font that is not too "silly", and then we may be able to answer your question.

I apologize for the caps. I entered the question in the search box, then decided to sign in, but I hit the send button instead. This week I received an email that also in ALL CAPS and it is really a bad experience. I was a mistake.

Thank you for the info re: the library/preferences folder. It's much appreciated.

I just purchased a 27" iMac with an i7 processor and put in 16 G memory. I reinstalled FCP Studio Pro.

The issue was DVD Studio Pro was giving an error message, compilation error. I want to clear the appropriate files out of the preferences folder. That seems to be the best hunch I have for solving the problem, as the program on the timeline is intact, fully-rendered and converted to DVD format (MP2/ac3).

The font issue is not all that important and not the right place for a new thread.
