I have an iPad 2 which needs a software update, but I do not have that option when I go into the settings menu. Can anyone help?

See the chart below to determine whether you can upgrade your device and what you can upgrade to. If you do not have a Software Update option present on your iDevice, then you are trying to upgrade to iOS 5 or higher. You will have to connect your device to your computer and open iTunes in order to upgrade.

The Software update option was only added in with iOS5, if you have a version of iOs lower than 5 you'll need to connect your iPad to a Computer running iTuines (Can be a Mac or a Pc doesn't matter) and follow the update prompts.

You'll probably want to back up the iPad before updating though.
