I had a message that it had not been backe up for 2 weeks. I plugged it in to my Mac and could not get rid of the mesg. I can't turn it off, can't get to settings...nada.
Try giving it a reset. Hold down the sleep and home key, past when you see the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if the message goes away.
