I have a Macbook Air and up to this evening, ithas performed flawlessly. Tonight, It froze. The keyboard is unresponsive, I can'y manually shout it down and after sitting closed, it would no go to sleep or shutdown. Is there anything I can do or will have to take it into service.

    Force Quit

Press command + option + esc keys together at the same time.

When Force Quit window appears, select the application, if not already.

Press Force Quit button at the bottom of the window.

    Force Shut Down

Press the power button for 10 seconds or more.

    Computer should shut down.

    OS X 10.7 /10.8

    Repair Disk

    Steps 1 through 7

If this does not help, contact Apple.

    Hello all,

I see this happening several times and especially since the latest OS X (10.9) updates.

Usually it happens when starting work after sleep mode. I just open a newspaper webpage (even refresh) scroll down a bit and it freezes.

I would like to know if there are others seeing the same behaving?

    Thanks and regards,

I have a similar problem with my Airbook 11. The situation is in the moment when it just starts sleep mode and I press any key in this moment. If freezes and I have to restart it through power button. It is regular situation so I decided usining only manual sleep mode.

Mine has also done this a few times now since the last update and it goes completely frozen. Pressing command + option + esc do absolutely nothing. It is frozen solid when this happens.

So far it happens after waking from sleep.
