Uninstall iTunes: iClarified - Mac OS X - How to Completely Uninstall iTunes (Mac)
Then try downloading an older version:
iTunes 10.7: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1576
iTunes 10.6.3 (mac only): http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1575?viewlocale=no_NO
Hope this helps.

Hi keeferaf
Afraid to loose all my 1,2 TB of music. I'd rather downgrade to iTunes 11.0.2 but don't know how... I have downloaded this older version, just not sure how to install (downgrade) without loosing all my musc, and my playlists....
Best Regards Mit freundlichen Grüssen Kurt L
Don't you have an external hard drive??? If so, simply back-up your itunes library.
Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
You can always used:
Downloading past purchases from App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
BTW: The only links I can find for iTunes 11.0.2 is for Windows, couldn't find a link for mac.

ALL my music is on external HardDrive ! 2x 3 TB Raid1, just to be sure. I lost ALL my music last year WHILE doing a backup, both ext discs crashed...
All these gymnastics are just nonsense. Does Apple read any of these threads? This program has crashed on me from Day 1 of the "upgrade." This is a joke. Should have been remedied immediately. Hello? Is anyone at Apple out there at all?
Hi There,
FWIW, I was having this exact problem repeatedly (open iTunes, play something, or even play nothing - wait a while, crash with message - send report to Apple, rinse, repeat ad nauseam) since updating to iTunes 11.0.3 and I am fairly certain I have found the culprit.
Before you get too excited, I don't have a terribly new mac and I'm only running 10.6.8 - Yes I know, I am behind the times. Having said all of this, I have been able to go into my device screens for my iPhone and iPad and untick the select box on the "Sync over Wifi" feature effectively switching it off. Then I quit iTunes, opened the Disk Utility and repaired permissions and rebooted. After having done this, I have successfully run iTunes 11.0.3 (with NO other changes or deletion of preference files or modifications to my media library etc) for 24 - 36 hours and I'm currently playing music from it right now without issue - no crash for about a day and a half.
So for me, the culprit is WiFi syncing - which believe me I already miss and it's only been a day or too.
Perhaps there will be an incremental update from Apple fixing this in a little while - until then, try your wifi sync settings and see what happens?
Cheers
I'd like to thank you for your suggestion.
I followed the instructions and have not had an iTunes crash for several days, though I haven't done much other than have it sit there (then again, it did crash even when not in use). I do, however, still receive error messages when i update apps. But that I can deal with.
Thanks again.
