How do I uninstall or shut off bonjour

Folks,

My network is flooded with junk packets from bonjour:

dr._dns-sd._udp.0.1.1.10.in-addr.arpa

All the discussions about uninstalling bonjour seem to be about windows, not OSX. How do I stop this service from running, or keep it from emitting these queries? I have 10.8.3.

Thanks!

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

You can disable Bonjour advertising without also disabling DNS resolution by following the instructions linked below:

I have notifications sleeping from midnight till 11:59pm since I hate distractions. Recently (probably due to some update), Bonjour has started telling me about all sort of other computers in my workspace, none of which I am interested in knowing anything about. I just want to access the internet through the work network. Is turning off Bonjour safe for my purposes?
