What is your Mac OS X version on your iMac? Do you have at least OS X Lion v10.7.2 (or later) and  iPhoto 9.2 (or later) or Aperture 3.2 (or later)? Otherwise you cannot activate PhotoStream on your iMac.

Where can you not "tick" Photo Stream? In the System Preferences "iCloud > Photo Stream" or the iPhoto Preferences "Photo Stream"?

    Regards

    Léonie

Not at all - we can not help if you refuse to provide information - the link I posted gives minimum requirements - you probably do not meet them but with you not answering the question

What is your Mac OS X version on your iMac?

That and everything else is just a guess - verify that you meet the minimum reaquirements follow the instructions in my link and it will work

continuing to post that it does not work withou reading the links and supplying the required information is a waste of your and our time

    I did that already

No you haven't.  You were asked several times to provide the system  version you are running and what version of iPhoto you have.  Until we know that we can't definitively spell out the solution to your problem.  If you would read the link that Larry provided you would know the answer yourself.

What ever - when you looked at your iPhoto preferences why didn"t you also look at the iPhoto version and report it as requested? Again we can not help if you contiue to refuse to asnwer simple questions

and again the most likely cause is that you do not meet the minimum requirements which have been given to you multiple times

It turns out that there is no magic here - you have o be involved in resolving the problem - just continuing to state the problem without answering our questions or reading and acting on our links is not going to get anywhere

I find you very rude. When I said I did that I did follow the link and the answer to the version of OX S I said I will find out I have to ask into pc shop first. I was not asked several times I was asked twice and if you had read my answer properly in the first place it would have helped matters. Why is it wasting time this is a support centre?!

Youo get the version of iPhoto form the same menu that you look at iPhoto preferences - the iPhoto menu  ==> about iPhoto - when you looked at the proferences you passed the about iPhoto entry to do it

Have a nice day - when you need help calling helpers names is not a great way to get the help that you very obviously need badly

I am not computer literate like you. My iPhoto version is 09 8.1.2. If you can tell me how to find my mountain lion version I will.

I did not continue to post that it still doesn't work do not put words in my mouth I have simply been asking questions which is what a support site involves!

My iPhoto version is 09 8.1.2.

That explains it.You need to upgrade iPhoto to at least iPhoto 9.2 (or later), as I said in my earlier post.

Otherwise you cannot use Photo stream on that computer.
