Q: how do i see the icloud status icons in itunes

Have your music library select, and be in song view.  Click the View menu >> View options.  Put a checkmark beside icloud download and/or icloud status for what you want.

If you don't see those options, make sure you're signed into itunes under the Store menu.  Confirm you have a checkmark beside 'show itunes in the cloud' purchases in the itunes preferences >> store.  If that option doesn't appear, quit itunes and reopen it, or sign out of itunes and sign back in under the store menu.
