old projects incompatibility with FCP X 10.0.8

After I upgraded FCP X to 10.0.8, my old projects became uneditable. Sometimes, I can only view them in the Viever, sometimes I see just green screen.

Is it possible to revive old projects?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), FC PRO X, Motion

Hi Tom! Thanx for your reply.

I have iMac (2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB SDRAM). Early 2008.

Graphics ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB.

Software OS X 10.8.3 (12D78)

System HD - 320 GB SATA,

Externals ( frof FCP X events and projects) - 1TB FireWire discs.

Final Cut Pro X 10.0.8

The situation I descibed is not the only bug. In the other old project an image of a "native clip" is substituted for a second with a clip from another project. Incredible. I tried to click both "ignore" and "OK", when the pop up window asked about old projects..

Hi Valya

Try uninstalling FCPX and reintalling it fresh, trash preferences and render files. I have an iMac similar in spec to yours but a bit faster processor. FCPX works fine with it. I do experience an occasional hickup, but noting fatal to using the program successfully. I do notice that some of the 3rd party plugins don't seem to work properly or takes a long time to render.

I know that you are not going to "throw away" your machine, but why not give it to a charitable organization. Many would love to have it. Then go buy yourself a new Mac as best as your budget allows.

Carl
