i pod is over heating

Hello my name is Micaela Nelson and my ipod touch is over heating for no reason. In about10-15 min. My ipod gets hot and the screen turn into a black screen that says the tempture is too hot and i know that I did not get it wet because ever time i put it down on something i put my hand on the table and make sure it is not wet.

I hope you can help me

P.S My ipod still work im just wondering why it doing this.
