Q: Unable to connect to new airport express wirelessly via airport utility?

Purchased an express to extend my extreme wirelessly for now.  I was unable to see the express via the airport utility wirelessly?  Once I connected it to the extreme via cat 5, I could see it, but I cant seem to get it to work when I choose to extend my wireless network and pick my extreme network???  Tried quite a few things, but nothing seems to work.  I am concerned that I may have a faulty wireless card in the express, especially since I cannot see it in the utility until I physically connect it?

Any thoughts?

Remember that a new AirPort Express broadcasts a wireless network with a name of Apple Network xxxxxx.

You have to log on to that network first.....no password is required......to establish a wireless connection between your PC and the AirPort Express.....then open AirPort Utility.

If you do not first establish a wireless connection between your PC and the AirPort Express, the Express will never appear in AirPort Utility.
