Shuffle doesn't open in iTunes

Trying to sync Shuffle gen 1 to iTunes. Cycles on and off but never recognizes it. Synced fine with last laptop also running Windows 7 but was 32 bit not 64. Any ideas?

If your iPod shuffle seems to be unresponsive when communicating with iTunes, it may be best to run through the following troubleshooting assistant:


Apple - Support - iPod shuffle - iTunes Troubleshooting Assistant

If all else fails, you can restore your iPod shuffle to factory settings:
