Keynote Internet access

How can I make it to the file goes to the webpage, displays it AND then advances to the next slide, all automatically.

Keynote is unable to do this as it does not have an auto-action feature to action the hyperlink.

As you have found, Keynote can use a hyperlink to open a page in a web browser, but this has to be done manually by clicking on a hyperlink.

Two work around's for you;

use Grab to copy a still image of the web page and place it in the slide

use other applications that can auto action a hyperlink to display web pages: Open Office or PowerPoint

You would have to do this manually before playing the presentation. Make a sceen grab of the web page then drag the file from the desktop into the slide in edit mode.

We did this for a reception desk in a large building, the recptionist made a screen grab three times a day of the local news items page from the companies web site.

Not elegant and did not show up to the minute data but it was effective.

Keynote can do this and use to do this in keynote 08. It still works in Keynote 09.

It was called Web View.

SOLUTION:

Then open up and go to the hyperlink inspector once that webpage is selected and enter whatever URL you want. You can create a presenattion to automatically advanced as normal and it will live update while playing.
