iTunes store error message.....

I have been having severe troubles enabling my iPod 3G, iPod Touch 2G and iPhone 3g.

Through installing and reinstalling various versions of iTunes I have all three opening up on iTunes 10.6.3.

But when I go to download an app I get an error message:-

Could not purchase 'xxxx'. An unknown error occurred (-42408).

Please can anyone suggest how to overcome this?

Thanks,

Hello Ian,

The following article contains some relevant information that may be helpful in getting your systems working.

iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297

"Error 42023" through "Error 42408"

These alerts might occur when trying to authorize iTunes or during launch when iTunes checks for authorization information.

  1. Install the latest iTunes from apple.com/itunes/download/
  2. Remove the SC Info folder.
  3. If that does not resolve the issue, see iTunes: "Error 42408" or "Error 42404" after upgrading to iTunes 9.0.3.

All the best,

Allen
