how to use iMAC to view cable tv with HD set top box

Question

Need to know how i can use my iMAC purchased in december 2011 as monitor to view cable tv using HD set top box.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

You would probably benefit by visiting www.elgato.com, they make tools for turning any computer into a TV.

I use the ElGato EyeTV HD.

It works through component outputs on the cable box.
