my iPhone is not recognising my charger and is therefore unable to charge, how do I fix this?

My iphone 4 is not recognising any apple chargers/docks and is saying charging is not allowed with this accessory. My phone has since run out of battery and is still not recognising any charging appliances I have. im losing my mind can any one advise?

This error usually means there is some lint, dirt, or foreign material in the iPhone's dock connector port and it doesn't take much, or the iPhone's dock connector port has moisture or some other hardware damage.
