New computer

I just bought a new HP Envy laptop compute -- running Windows 8. My iTunes library is on an external hard drive and has been for several years now.

I installed iTunes on the new computer set the lionbrary "pointer" in edit / preferences / advanced to the SAME location as used for my old laptop.

NONE of my playlists are appearing. Thank goodness I sync'd 2 iPods, my iPhone 5 AND my iPad before trying out the new computer.

HELP PLEASE!!! Unsure how to get all my playlists and "albums" onto the new machine!!!
