Error 7 Windows error 998

I did the upgrade to Itunes 11.03 and during the installation I got the Blue Screen of death.

I have never received a Blue Screen before on this PC because its only a few months old and loaded with 32 gig of memory on a Win 7 64 bit machine with anUser uploaded fileUser uploaded file ASUS motherboard and a top notch video card. I tried installing it again (same error) uninstalled it andd then reinstalled it and iU get the same error.

Hello mgtechus,

iTunes has various components bundled with it that it requires for general usage. I advise that we completely remove iTunes and all of these related components, verify that they have been removed, then reinstall. To do so, please follow the steps in this article:

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

Note: it is important to remove the 7 components in order. Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.

If the above does not resolve your issue, I recommend we refer to the following resource:

Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows

Thanks,

Matt M.
