Q: iPhoto books - number of pages?

I am doing an iBook and need help as follows:

1.  how many pages can I have in a hard cover book?

2.  how much does it cost????  How much per added page?

3.  how can I add pictures from other albums?  I seem to nly have a very limited selection where I can draw pictures from, i.e. the album used to create the book, flagged album.  I would like to add pictures from another album, but I can't seem to get it to show up in my media list.

Thanks,

GJ

The page limits for print products are listed here:

Apple Photo Services: Product line details for books, cards, and calendars

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3412

For a hardcover book: Max 100 pages (50 sheets of paper)

To add additional photos to the book, open the album or event in the borowser and drag the photos to your book in the source list.

Thanks for your help.  I have another question - I would like to add a caption to some of the pictures.  So far I have only found one layout where there seems to be edit box to add a caption.  Is there any way to add more?

Quite a few of the themes have layouts that include captions.  Almost every page layout has a caption and non-caption option:

Yes, again this was helpful but I guess I was hoping to be able to have captions on a multitude of pictures rather than just one - more like a regular photo album.  My project is massive - I am doing a 'book of memories' for my husband for our 50th Wedding Anniversary, so you can imagine the number of photos I am trying to identify!!

Your prompt help is most appreciated, and I would be very happy to receive any further tips or suggestions.  I have done four or five previous books on a MUCH smaller scale!!

The only theme that offers a caption field for each of multiple photos on a page is Folio but it only allows 2 photos per page max.

Or you can create your own custom page with as many photos and captions per page as you'd like, space permitting.  See this tutorial for how: iP11 - Creating a Custom Page, with the Theme's Background for an iPhoto Book.

If you have Pages (part of the iWork suite of apps) it is very easy to create a custom page.

Excellent!!!  Thanks again.  I had already used a collage of pictures to import to iPhoto and used it as a page in my book.  For some reason I didn't think of using pages to create a page and save it as a JPG image to import it - wonderful!!!  I'm making progress!

A followup question - can photos added to a project be deleted without using them?  I have found I have a few duplicates and would like to clear them out - is this possible?

    Thanks.

Yes, you can delete photos from the projects, that have not been used in the book.

Wasn't sure how to do this, but I just tried highlighting them in the photo list within the project and using 'cut' and it seemed to work.  I was originally triying to move them by my mouse into an archive folder.  Is this how you would suggest I do it?
