I have a supplementary question about this unit - maybe someone can shed some light? :
When:
- the M15E is connected via Firewire,
- the M15E is in HDV mode,
- FCS 5.1.1 is displaying/editing an HDV sequence, then
FCS now shows new options on the View:Video Playback menu: viz:
"HDV (1440x1080) 25 fps" and
"HDV (1440x1080) 30 fps" - but these are
greyed out on my ageing G4 Dual 1.42GHz.
However - does this mean, when I have a more powerful Mac, these two greyed out options might be enabled and FCS might be able to send an HDV stream down Firewire to the M15E, to record/display, or more importantly:
monitor via the component outputs? (like the DSR-11 did with SD?)
Thus allowing realtime preview of HDV on a monitor whilst editing (albeit from some much faster future Mac one day, capable of generating HDV MPEG-2 on the fly)?
Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
