Hey MaryLS,
When using the Trackpad, you can configure a two-finger tap as an alternative to right-clicking (on a regular mouse). This will in turn bring up the shortcut menu for copy/paste functions.
For more information, see the following resources:
OS X Mountain Lion: Right-click
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11366
OS X Mountain Lion: Change keyboard, mouse, and trackpad settings
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11378
To change settings for your trackpad, use the Trackpad pane of System Preferences.
You can change the tracking speed (how quickly the pointer moves as you move your finger on the trackpad), as well as the double-click and scrolling speed. You can also customize the gestures you use with your trackpad so it works the way you want.
Thanks,
Matt M.
