When texting, I turn phone on side but screen is not rotating?
When texting, I turn phone on side (landscape mode), but screen not rotating. When I use other apps etc...screen will rotate?

That is strange. I guess you haven't locked screen rotation (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3805) Maybe you need to restart your phone.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).
