My Mac Pro does not see my Deskjet 1600CM printer, where is a good source of reference on how to network the printer?

That is an AppleTalk or EtherTalk printer, unless it has a jetDirect card in it.
Do you have a Mac running 10.5 or older on your network?
I spent a lot on HP Deskjet for Mac, for PC (Deskjet) but that was over 22 yrs ago.
And usually it does get to be forced upgrade to have driver support plus you can't compare cost performance - my $300 laser printer 25ppm does not even compare to the LaserWriter series of 20+ yrs ago with their $3000-8500 price tags.
