Q: I have the iPhone 5 and I keep getting a no sim card message. I have had my phone for over a year now so I know I have a sim card. How can I fix this because it doesn't let me get calls now.

Try resetting the phone. Hold the home and power lock button until the Apple logo appears.If that does not work, turn the phone off and take the SIM out and then put it back in.

If that still does not work, you may have a defective SIM, in which case you will need a new one from your carrier.

There is a small hole on right side of iPhone 5 (looking from screen side )use a paper clip or similar to push in to hole and tray should pop out

No you have not.  The iPhone 5 was not released until November of 2012 so you've only had it 8 months max.

Umm in UK it was released on 22 September ,before US

I must have confused the release date of the unlocked version which was November of 2012, regardless, the iPhone 5 has not been out for a year.

totally agree no iPhone 5 is out of warranty
