Facebook/Contacts/Profile Pics

Recently all of my emails and contacts are showing their profile pictures, even if we're not friends on Facebook. This is really annoying, only because it's added images I don't need/want to see. Is there a way to prevent this from happening, and remove all of the current profile pics of those in my contact list? It's happening on all of my devices (macbook, ipad, iphone). Any help would be appreciated.

disable Facebook contact sync by navigating to Settings > Facebook and toggling the Contats switch from ON to OFF.

Also, if you are syncing your iPhone contacts via iCloud, make sure there are no profile pictures shown for your iCloud contacts - simply log in to your iCloud account from your computer and remove the pics. Same if you are syncing contacts over Gmail.
