Nano 6th Gen Screen Blank but recognized by itunes

My 6th Generation Nano that I had gotten as a part of the iPod nano (1st generation) Replacement Program suddenly went blank today.

The ipod is being recognized by itunes but I'm unable to get the screen to turn on.

I have reinstalled itunes, tried resetting the nano ( ➖ volume button + Sleep/Wake button)... itunes syncs and recognizes the nano when it is plugged into the computer however the screen remains blank. I have not dropped the ipod anywhere..however i've been using it a lot to track my runs using nike plus.( Unable to track my runs from 2 days since the blank screen incident 😢)

Can someone tell me if they came across such an issue? And How did you resolve it?

Thanks!

iPod nano (6th generation), Windows Vista
