OSX 10.5 Install Disk hanging

I decided to install a larger hard drive into my Mac Mini 2,1. I didn't run into any issues with the physical install, but when I am trying to install 10.5 off of the disk, it gets to the place where you see the "space" background, and then hangs. I let it sit for about an hour with the beach ball spining. It never came up with the first screen.

Not sure what could be the problem.

Before I had installed the new hard drive, I had tested the disk and booted into with no problem.
