Q: Using Mt Lion - can't locate registration code for QT 7

I followed the instructions given by Apple on how to re-use my QT7 Pro registration number, which I have. There is a place to put the code found under the QuickTime 7 menu and under the Window menu, but then the only option after filling in the blanks is to "Buy QT"  I've already downloaded the 7.6.6 version, now I'd like to register. I upgraded from Tiger to Mt. Lion.

Please set me straight.

Thanks, Peter, for responding so quickly.

Actually, I figured out what was wrong purely by accident.

When I typed inmy name and regisitration number I was looking for an option besides "Buy" to finish off the transaction.  I even tried again with my Server Snow Leopard which shows in Parallels.  After this second try, I hit the return key WAM.  Ha, that did it, nearly fell out of my chair.

That's how to put the registration into action, just hit the return.  I now have both of my Macs-in-one ready to serve me with QT 7 Pro. The best money I have ever spent.  Now, I have to trash all the QT 10.2s that came with the two software option.

Really, just hit return.  That should be added to the instructions.

BTW here is a small part of that same link above.

The key should still be available from your online Apple store account page.

    1. Go to http://store.apple.com
    2. Click the account button in the top right corner of the browser window. Log in if required.
    3. Click on Downloadable software purchases link.
    4. All of the software downloads purchased through the online Apple store should be there.

Well, there was no such (4) option when I looked.  Think it needs updating too.

Again, thanks Peter, for you help.
