IN APRIL I DOWNLOADED FROM THE STORE AN AUDIO BOOK AND WAS CHARGED FOR IT BUT I CANNOT FIND THE AUDIO BOOK?

If it is not listed as being able to be redownloaded by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Then contact iTunes. Maybe they will allow free redownload. It is up to you to maintain a backup if you has it and deleted it.
